@Morde1 As your current SIM card has stopped working, you'd need to either call customer care team on 08009566000 from any other phone who can send one in the post, or pop into any EE store with photo ID who can issue a replacement SIM card straight away.
You can find your nearest store at EE Store Finder

The fastest way is to pick one up in your nearest EE Store.

I am afraid that I am very unhappy about EE's customer service. I tried Harlow branch for a new sim and I was redirected to the store where I 1st started my contract, Bishops Storford. But I got there thinking that I would be able to find a solution to the problem, I was treated very rudely by the manager who repeatedly said I ought to "go home" and come back when I was less frustrated! I was so angry with the complete ineptitude of the manager that I am still toying with the idea of sharing my experience with EE with my 2k followers on Twitter! All I want is a new sim so that I can receive incoming calls which I still can't do. Can EE help me get a new sim for my contract? my number is xxxxxxxxxxx

I'm sorry to hear of your experience. Did they say why they were unable to give you a replacement SIM?

If the number is under your account it would need to be yourself requesting the replacement SIM.
