I Have a new SIM with the default pin 1111, however the sim card is going in to a device that needs the pin turned off (it is a timelapse camera system). Is there a way to turn off the sim pin as I cannot put it in a phone?
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

The SIM PIN is not used unless you deliberately activate it.

Hi @staggandrew,
Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂
Are you able to put the SIM in a phone temporarily to turn off the SIM PIN?

Unfortunately not - the device uses a micro pin size and the phone i have are all nano so it would make the sim difficult to reinsert into the device afterwards

Hi @staggandrew,
Have you tested the SIM to see if there is definitely a SIM PIN already set up?

It comes with the 1111 on the packaging - I assumed that the pin was set up

Only if you use it to active a lock screen biometric lock.
