When I first ported my number from BT to EE, I had the same issue as the simcard didn't store my number, which is viewable in the phone status settings. I ordered a replacement SIM after my number port completed and never had an issue since.

I had this issue when I first joined EE from another network and ported my number over. Calls, texts, and data worked fine. However, as the number in the SIM and phone status was the original one and not my ported number, any app which wanted to verify my number, such as WhatsApp would populate with the wrong number. The only way around this was to order a new SIM as EE tech support couldn't grasp the issue at the time.
