Porting number but keeping contract

Hi,

I recently got a new sim only deal that I couldn’t turn down or wait for. And I want to port my current EE number across. I’m in contract till October so I want to keep this line until then without paying the balance in full. And let a family member use this number. Is this possible without losing my ability to pay monthly?

Thanks!

You can't port your number away without terminating the contract which would mean you have to pay the ETF (early termination fee) if you're still within the minimum term.

The most you can do, if you have a dual SIM phone, is have both in the same handset. That way you can use the old SIM as backup data, use the new one as the main data connection.

You can set a dual SIM handset to make calls from the EE SIM/your main number and use the new SIM for data only.
