Ported but Text issue

Recently ported over to EE from Vodafone keeping my original tel number  ,  when calls are made from mobile to any landline or other mobile my original number is displayed correctly on receivers handset. ...............But, if i send a text message from my phone the number displayed on receiving mobile is not my number, its displaying the number that came with the SIM .

...any ideas?   is this an issue with a set up in my Galaxy A72 phone or an issue with my EE setup ?

Hi @BillMcD Thanks for getting in touch with us here in the EE Community and telling us about this.

It may take a little time for your number to fully port into us after you've provided your PAC, You can find more information here

I'd recommend giving us a call so that a guide can get access to your account and give you an update.

How recently is "recently" that you ported-in - can you be a bit more exact? Port-in should occur within a working day of providing your PAC, assuming that's done during working hours.

Is this only affecting "new" text messages you send, or existing conversations? If you've received the "port-in complete" text message, there shouldn't be any delay beyond that unless something is awry. Verify by texting NUMBER to 150 - is the correct response received?

Thanks for your response,  the "porting" was carried out more than 6 days ago, and i have had other issues where my new number was still coming up when calling other phones (not my ported number)  and this was on day 3 and 4 after porting was reported as being completed, after calling  150 this was sorted and i was informed that everything on the account was correctly set up.   Now i discover that texting is an issue as described above,   looks like another phone call to 150 to resolve this texting issue............not the best start to a new contract!!!

@BillMcD , what phone do you have? If IPhone you may have to disable FaceTime and IMessage, reboot and see if that makes a difference and once that is sorted, re-enable FaceTime and IMessage.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.
