Hi. I have been given a PAC code from EE a want to use this to port my number on to my new contract with EE. Only the PAC code is not recognised and apparently only works if I’m transferring in from another network (not EE to EE transfer). I have tried calling 150 and was told I have an hour and 45 minute wait time ahead of me.
is there anyway to do this online rather than wait to speak to someone ??

PACs are only for porting between networks, not within network.
Follow How Do I Upgrade from Pay As You Go? to switch from PAYG to contract. Your existing PAYG credit will be carried over as credit towards your future bills. You keep your existing SIM & no. The plan on it is just switched to contract.

Thanks, that’s not what the chap who set me up on the new contract said. He suggested I need to port over my number and sent a PAC code.
your suggestion makes a lot more sense though 🤔

Which company did you buy the new contract from? Commission based sales people tend to say anything to get their money.
Assuming you are out of contract on your old number, the easiest way is to PAC out to another network on PAYG, and then a day later PAC in to your new EE contract. A bit of a faff and a bit of downtime, but assume you saved lots of money by not upgrading, so it's hopefully worth it.
