Hi, my old sim is out of contract, i have another contract that has 18 months to run, Id like to port my out of contract number to the in contract sim and then cancel the old sim.
I read that EE wont port numbers between contracts and it would only be possible if i port to another network then back again, is this correct?
If so it seems odd, and possibly just a little spitefull, unless theres a genuine reason.
Anyone able to confirm the porting off EE then back is feasible.
Thanks
Gary

You can call and request for your out of contract plan to be moved onto EE Pay As You Go and once this has been completed and switched from PAYM to PAYG, you would call through again and get them to port the PAYG number onto the contract.
Saves you messing around with PAC Codes and other networks, with it all being done in-house. Just make sure you let the agent know exactly what it is you're trying to do in case they were thinking you want a new contract.
You would lose the number that is currently on that contract when you replace it.

The reason is that what you've described, is allowed for via the upgrade process. That means changing your phone whilst keeping your number.
A roundabout way of doing the same, has been described - but it's nothing to do with spite. EE are not the only network to operate this policy.
