I went to an EE store on Saturday to with my PAC code from giffgaff to move to EE. I gave the the PAC and they gave me a new sim. They said it would be ported either Monday or Tuesday and I can use the temporary number in the mean time. However today I haven't been able to use the sim as it either says no service or 3G. Even with a signal I can't send messages or call anyone.

Welcome to the community.
That's right, you should be able to use the temporary number till your number port completes.
As the request was made on a weekend it will take two working days for your number to transfer over to EE.
Could you use your SIM OK yesterday?

I could use it fine yesterday but now I can't do anything with it. I can't send message or make calls or use my data.

If you search your area using the Network Status Checker do any known issues show?
Can you use your old SIM still?
