Number on SIM still old after porting

Completed a port today and new number is showing on outgoing calls etc, but in the SIM details on phone (and also in places like Google Messages app in RCS chat settings) it;s still showing old number.

Seems to be the same issue as here:

I couldn't get through to customer support and I don't have access to iPhone to edit SIM. Is there any other way to do it or can somebody from EE do it for me please? I will also have to do it for a second number I'm porting tomorrow. I wonder why these things can never be straightforward.

Edit: seems like there is a problem, Messages app seems to use new number when receiving and old when sending😕

Spoke to tech support, they said give it 24 hrs so I'll wait, even though I got a text in the morning saying port complete.

Waited over 24hrs and it didn't update. Same for a second number I ported. Customer Service on 150 very busy. Can an EE person look into it and perform a network reset for me? @Christopher_G ?

We don't have access to your account here in the community. If the number doesn't update after restarting the phone, please speak to our Mobile Care team so they can check the number transfer went through fully.

I'm just having now the same exact issue and I'm porting in another number tomorrow too... coincidence? Maybe...

Anyway you havent updated us what happened for a sorting. what I'm thinking is maybe I should ask ee to send me a sim replacement which will have my new number on it as porting is already complete by now. Should work best this way I guess or have you found a better way?

It's been a while and I don't remember now, but I think it just resolved itself after a while. I definitely didn't need a new sim. But ot may be worth speaking to CS if it persists. Hth.

I'm having the same issue. Interested to know if the sim replacement done the job?. Or please suggest what's the best way to get the original number linked back to the phone.? Much appreciate your response!

Does your temporary number show in your phone settings?

Do you live near a local EE Store?

If yes, I'd recommend giving us a visit with photo ID so a replacement SIM can be provided.
