hi I’m new to EE on a new 24 month contract I received the SIM today by DPD and cannot activate it via their website. Spoke to technical they didn’t have a clue so they had to put me on hold to speak to a higher up tech got back to me and said it can take up to 24 hours to activate so not a very good start with EE so far if it’s not activated by this time tomorrow I’m still within my 14 day cooling off period so I will just council

Hi there @Garry19801

Thanks for coming to the community.

New SIM cards are usually registered when they are used in a device and connected to the EE network. Does the SIM show no signal in your device?

Thanks.

Leanne.

I’ve just changed to EE. Received the sim by post on Tuesday. I just installed the sim into phone & got msg back (after a while) saying sim activated, turn phone off & back on to set it up. Did that & all ok. I’ve had my old number saved & it registered that yesterday (temporary number working prior to that).

P. S. I’ve didn’t have to do any set up on app etc.

I inserted my new EE Sim into my iPhone and it’s just not registering with the network, the tech department said it can take up to 24 hours but I’ve never had this problem with Vodafone and EE using the same iPhone

Thanks for trying that @Garry19801

I'm so sorry that your SIM hasn't activated. We'd need our customer care team to have a look into this and check your account. I'd recommend getting in touch with them again and they can also log a complaint to address your experience overall.
