Your new EE SIM will have a temporary number assigned when you first receive it. If a PAC was supplied as part of the order, that will be submitted when you first activate the new SIM onto EE's network.

A port-in date will be set then, usually the following working day. This assumes activation during normal working hours - if during the evening, add an extra working day to these timescales.

"every time" you do what?

Is this a separate issue with a website? Or is there some aspect to your number port-in that needs website intervention and you've not mentioned it?

Thanks again for your “help”

Everytime I click on the activate sim button as you suggested in your last reply

Hi @Danpearce1986

Welcome to EE!

As you're joining us with a new line, the SIM will already be pre-activated- the online activation service is only used for activating a replacement SIM.

To complete the pre-activation of your new SIM, all you need to do is pop the new EE SIM into your device and make your first call. This start the process to complete the number port.

Hi

Unfortunately it says call failed. I wonder if the sim is faulty? Nothing
happening at all at the moment

Thanks for your reply, good to know I don’t need to activate it

@Danpearce1986 It could possibly be. Does the phone have signal bars showing with the SIM inserted? Are you able to use data and send texts or are they not working also?

If you have not already its worth restarting the phone and removing and re-inserting the SIM as they can sometimes help with issues like this.

Thanks for your replyJust 4 grey dots at the top, can use my WiFi but no texts or calls working, just nothing at all, restarted, taken sim out but just getting nothing. Tried to call tech support but when I put in my number is tells me it can’t help and hangs up, I guess it doesn’t recognise my number as it’s not activated because sim isn’t working

@Danpearce1986 Thanks for confirming, it does sound like it is a SIM or account issue that will need our technical team to take a look for you.

If it is the number you are transferring in to us from your old network you are entering, enter the temporary number when it asks for the number.

However you should also just be able to hold and not enter any number when it asks and it will move on to the next step to get you connected to someone.
