Hi all was thinking to buy iPhone straight from Apple but using my ee sim from my current Samsung phone. Any issues with this? Thanks.

@Minkey1 , IPhone to IPhone is very simple and straightforward,, just keep both phones close by and you can do the transfer from one to the other, should have no issues, have done it with mine last year and four years ago, when I upgraded.
@Drewiemaxx , you should be able to transfer with both phones being near each other, not sure that everything will transfer, but most should, you may have to download some of the apps separately though, if they do not transfer.

I did exactly that, 2 yrs ago switching from Pixel 4 to iPhone 13. No issues with the physical SIM and connection, tho not everything initially transferred over, app and login wise. Got there in the end.
New iPhone comes tomorrow, so I’m hoping iPhone to iPhone is more straightforward this time.
Have to be careful tho not to initiate a transfer from physical SIM to eSIM.

Good luck. Seem to remember Apple do, or did, a “Move to iOS” app or similar. It did smooth the way for me. Since then I’ve sold all my Google stuff and concentrated on Apple (phones, iPad, AirPods, Watch, and TV) - with Alexa on the home side.
I do like how Apple stuff all works together. I won’t be going back.

@Minkey1 , I agree with you there, but when moving from Android to Apple, Apple does ask whether you want to transfer from an Android or Apple, at least it did last year and you can then also choose whether you want to have the ESim or physical SIM card, worked well for me, did change to ESim, which I was not going to, I was going to use a physical SIM card, but it has all worked out well with an ESim, just be careful if you want the physical SIM card, to click on to do that later.

I don’t fully understand eSIMs, so I’m sticking with old school as long as I can.
New phone has just arrived, so hours of fun ahead. I still highly rate Pixel phones, but my 2 Nexus and Pixel tablets both died outside warranty, and I got fed up with Google constantly changing stuff eg they just deleted their podcast app. Sod ‘em.
No regrets.

@Minkey1 , just make sure that you click on install the SIM card later or whatever it asks you, otherwise you will have the ESim as the sim for the network.
