My contract ends next month , I want to leave EE and buy a phone outright how do I keep my number and cancel contract easily

Use a PAC as per https://ee.co.uk/help/profile/leaving-ee/cancel-my-contract-with-ee 

Text PAC to 65075 and give this to your new provider.
