Keeping my existing EE number having bought a new EE Phone

I currently have a pay as you go phone with an EE telephone number. I have just bought a new handset (Nokia) which is on the EE network, again pay as you go, but want to keep my existing EE number. Any ideas how I can do this without switching to another network first?

@atwyman : If you can't use your old SIM, call CS to move your old no. to the new SIM.
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.
EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.
