Did you mean:

Replacement handset only allows for 2g Edge data network, so no longer see 4g/5g

Galaxy S23 - I bought a replacement handset and having put in my existing sim card, it attached to EE network but only offers 2g as the data provider, I no longer get 4g/5g data.

swapped sim card back in to older handset and all works fine.

tried suggested:
recycle Flight mode
re-seated sim card
reset network settings
turned of and on again etc
latest updates applied

No network coverage issues -  all other EE devices can get at least 4g network?

Hi @PGellatly

Where did you get the handset.

What firmware *#1234#

Check device network mode settings: Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Network mode SIM1 or SIM2 > Select network mode > set device network mode as 5G/LTE/3G/2G (auto connect) mode.

Check network operator settings: Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Select automatically > OK > Registered on network

Thanks

Do you get 4G/5G for voice or background usage?

Where did you buy the replacement handset from?
