Hello,
I recently got my final bill from the contract. I have contacted EE customer service about moving from contract to pay as you go and was reassured 3 times that the move would happen automatically. However I did not receive any confirmation that in fact this is true. I am currently abroad and EE network never worked in this country for me (Japan), I have no signal, so cant get or send any messages.
Your 'live chat' via app doesn't work so I cannot contact any of the representative.
It was important for me to keep the number, for when I am back in UK. Where can I check if my phone number still belongs to me?

Hello @Abroad123 ,
Welcome to the community,
Did you mention you were abroad when contacting customer service?
Your SIM card needs to first be activated in the UK when changing from contract to pay as you go, so it will not work otherwise.
Have you checked your junk.spam folder?
Just remember if you do not activate and use your number it would eventually be disconnected.
The only way to get it activated is to have someone in the UK to activate it, make a chargeable call or text for it to work, either by requesting a replacement SIM card or sending the one you have back to the UK and then back to you, once it has been activated etc.
