Invalid Sim

Ny mother-in-laws EE sim in her phone is showing as 'invalid' on her PAYG Alcatel mobile. Only used once in a blue moon, so I have tried reactivating it with EE online, but EE does not recognise the mobile number as there. Any thoughts other than getting a new sim?

It looks like it has either gone into hibernation or has been deactivated for not being used to make a chargeable call or send a text.If it has been six months since used, then it will go into hibernation, she then has a further three months before it is lost forever.
