I'm in Korea trying to activate a local network ESIM (pixel 7a)
However it keeps saying to scan the QR code from EE, but it's not from EE it's from KT.
I can't figure out if this should work or if I need to do something differently
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

EE wants 30£ for 100MB???

Ok https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/roaming/travel-data-pass shows 6.70 a day for 100MB... Which is outrageous, and why I got a local eSIM, but it seems EE has somehow stopped me using it.

That will cost me probably 100£! It's 2.3£ a minute and it'll will definitely take at least 30 minutes

@ABC42 Your device thinks you’re trying to activate the eSim for EE with that QR code that’s why you’re getting that error message and to contact EE because it’s not working and that QR code isn’t related to EE. You’ll be best to contact that network who supplied that QR code on how to proceed with this.

Are you trying to scan this from an EE app or by another means?
Perhaps try opening your camera direct (as if you are taking a photo) and try scanning the QR code.

Thanks, that was it. Scanned it via the normal camera app and it worked. Not seen anyone suggest that elsewhere.
