How do I activate a Data SIM card in an iPad?

Hi

I've a data sim that I bought a while ago but I cannot remember how to activate it in my iPad.

The activation process sends a passcode to the sim mobile number which I cannot receive as the sim is in an iPad.

Any help appreciated.

How long's "a while ago"? If it's on PAYG & you haven't used it for over ~6 months it may have gone into hibernation & been deactivated.
