How can I disable the sim card in a stolen phone?

My phone has been stolen, I'm abroad, won't be returning to the UK for a while, how can I get to disable the sim card in the stolen phone meanwhile?  There seems no way to ask EE to do this on the web pages, and no way to contact them without the phone/app!

Yes, in theory the sim card needs a PIN. But there's always a 1/10000 chance of it being guessed! I don't want to be that one.

Report it lost or stolen https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/fix-problem/my-device-has-been-lost-or-stolen

Order a new SIM which deactivate the old one.
