I had a hell of a time trying to find out how to do this and it seems the ee techs dont even know. took a few phone calls to get the answers. DO NOT DEACTIVATE the sim on the old phone. it will just become unusable once this works.
So heres how i got it to work
go to the EE website via a browser on a latop/desktop pc.
https://ee.co.uk/plans-subscriptions/mobile
in phones and devices section activate esim. follow insturctions untill you get a QR code.
on your new phone go to add esim and scan the QR code. add the sim and then wait 4 hours. (can be 24hrs)
Then go in to ee app on new phone. Manage / check settings / activate my esim/
Follow instructions and then restarts phone.
Started working immediatly.
Why EE dont have this under a FAQ is very odd. Also why you cant do all this in the APP? which is crap BTW.
