Really would appreciate advice: What would you do if, after hours, EE suddenly changed your phone number to that of a member on the account that you own? My number is unmistakably mine and it’s essential to my Apple ID and just absolutely EVERYTHING. i was just made account holder explicitly with that number. The process took all day. And now this? Any help?

Unfortunately this is not customer service but a public forum and you will have to ring them in the morning to find out why your number has changed. They should be able to put things right, nothing we can do here.
Why did it take all day?

My number is still now that of the other person on my account, and in fact EE has just sent a congratulatory text saying that they’ve changed my network settings to reflect my new role. It makes zero sense. My dad was the previous account holder, he had a stroke, a guy took us painstakingly through the whole process of making me the account holder instead (i was already the bill-payer), and during this process i made it clear that we wanted to to keep our original phone numbers. Whole thing completed, credit check and all, but then i got an email from EE that seemed wrong, so i called back. Turned out the guy had simply made me the account holder of a new, private account, and my dad now just had to fend for himself. So then this perfectly nice man spoke to my father again and my father said nothing about ceding his phone number to me, but i was supposedly made the account holder of an account that he shares with me. i canly access EE with HIS email address and password, however, and now my phone number is gone too, and my phone doesn’t work for anything but internet and whatsapp. Would love any suggestions, as i can’t call 150.

Sorry, in above post i meant i can ONLY access EE using my dad’s details. BTW, my dad doesn’t know if he’s been given my own number as he has a new phone and is struggling to set it up. (It’s not an EE phone and he is on the same plan as before, so this is nothing to do with the current mess.)
