I am studying abroad from the US and am attempting to install an eSim with EE to my iPhone 12. But I am unsure how to go about it as it keeps asking me to connect a device when I don't have a number that starts with 07. I don't know the difference between a pay as you go or any of that other stuff. Please help.

Hi @2busybee
An Esim is not available on PAYG you need to be a pay monthly EE customer.
Are you in the UK now.
Thanks
To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.
EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

Do you have a pay as you go or pay monthly plan, @2busybee?

Hello! Thank you for your reply. I don't currently have one with EE but I do have one in the states with T-Mobile. Though I need a UK number so I thought the way to go about it would be getting a dual (e)sim, is that correct?

@2busybee Sorry that’s not possible. ESims are for contract customers not pre pay. You are facing the issues of Apple making US iPhones eSim only. To use a pre pay EE sim you have to be able to put a sim in the device. Lycra mobile do offer eSims to pre pay customers and they use the EE network to give their customers a cellular connection.
