Can't call EE

Hi. I am abroad in Serbia. I have lost my phone and had to buy a new one. I am trying to contact EE to see if I can block my old phone from making calls and also to see if I can get an EE esim with my old number on it. I need my old number so that I can get into my online banking.

Realistically, you should now expect to be offline until your return to the UK.

A physical SIM can only be despatched to your UK billing address. Electronic SIMs will require your existing number to be verified by SMS first - which is impossible without a working SIM.

You should report your phone & SIM lost by contacting EE CS on +44 7953 966150 or +44 800 9566000 using a web-calling app such as Skype over WiFi. That stops others using your SIM in the meantime.

Hi Bristolian, just an FYI I tried the Skype option and it didn't seem to be possible.  When I got to CS, 1st and 2nd level support I asked each level and they confirmed there are no 'free' options to call EE whilst abroad.  Not sure if that was the case but all numbers I found diverted to the Customer Service number which was chargeable (at great expense from where I am 😞 )

Thanks for all the helpful posts though just thought I would update you on what I was told

The published number for EE CS from abroad is +44 7953 966150, I wouldn't expect frontline CS agents to know otherwise.

CS is always chargeable on PAYG, and this is often invoked by a debit from your credit balance, regardless of what number you've called on.
