I was trying to negotiate a better broadband deal with BT but as this wasn’t happening i chose to leave! So, although I didn’t really request it, the operator decided to end early our contract with BT mobile and transfer us to EE.
We were assured at the time that when sims came all we would need to do was insert sims and phone each other then our old numbers would be kept. We were not given the PACs as staff member said she’d dealt with all that and sent them to EE when moving our contract.
Unsurprisingly this hasn’t worked and I don’t know what else to do. We’ve had to put BT sims back in as we can’t be without our mobiles as they’re needed for work and contact with a vulnerable child.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

I'm glad they've managed to pinpoint the problem, @Fianais and I'm sorry for the inconvenience that it's causing for you.
I just want to make you aware that these ports don't go through on weekends or bank holidays, so it's likely to actually be Tuesday that it all completes.

Thanks for telling me that or I really would have been shouting on Monday!
Messages I got “please stay assured, it will be transferred on 19th. … It will automatically be moved to EE on 19th before 11am. … Please stay assured, it will be resolved and your number will be transferred on 19th. We’ll make sure you won’t have to face such issue in future.”
Thanks again.

It may very well do, @Fianais. It isn't an ordinary, scheduled bank holiday so to be completely honest, I'm not 100% sure.
If it doesn't go through on Monday though, this will be why.
Fingers crossed for you.
