Hello,
I joined EE from Virgin Media in October, I transferred my number over and everything has been fine.
Expect, one of my family members asked me which number was mine as the number she texts me on isn't my number (maybe the original SIM number) but when she called my number is comes through on my phone.
I've spoken to various people and they have realised they are texting the same number.
When looking in the settings, the strange number people text me on comes under SMSC, the number shown is the original SIM one.
Is this something you can change?

Is this for RCS text messages or SMS/MMS text messages
The SMSC is the service number to send text messages.. and not likely the cause of your issues
In messages, tap on your profile icon, tap on message settings, tap on RCS Chats check the number in there is correct, if not disable RCS Chats, re enable and re verify to your number.
Your sms number I am guessing you already checked as it's just above the greyed out read-only SMSC number. In messages, tap on your profile icon, tap on message settings, tap on advanced, phone number.
