roaming not working slovenia

Many, many times I have used 'roam like home' or whatever it's called to get voice and data roaming in EU for 1, 3, 7 days. This trip, as usual, touch down in Slovenia and I receive the text message instructing me to text ROAMEU7D to 150 for a week of roaming for 10 GBP. Great. I try but it doesn't work. Message fails to send. I turn off RCS (iPhone 13mini / latest OS) to see if that's the problem, still won't send. I try about 15 times, my partner's phone too.

I can receive calls and they work.

At the hotel later I call EE using another service and the person says she can manually add it. I get the text confirmation that it is added and mobile data starts to work.

Still, though, I cannot make a phone call or send a text message. If I try a phone call it says there are 'service restrictions.' I turned off wifi-calling and this did not fix it.

I'm on Pay as you go. If anyone knows the answer, please do tell. EE, please give me a call to fix it. Thanks.

Try a manual network search to another local operator to rule out a network-specific issue.

Yes! Auto chose Telemach which only worked for data. Manual change to A1 SI works. Can I leave it like that then?

You can do @jhskskhh35.

If you find that it stops working again, you can try to manually search again.

When you are due to come home again, it is worth then switching it back to automatic network selection.

Hopefully ee can get the problem with Telemach fixed soon or at least remove them from the working roaming provider list so others don't have to waste their holiday time with this sort of thing. Thanks all for the help.
