roam like home-allowance confusion??

i was recently in the canaries and on my first day there bought a 7 day roam like home add-on, it’s the first time i’ve been abroad whilst with EE so i figured it’d be the best option. i’ve just had a text saying i no longer have access to my UK allowances and i have the option to extend, if not i’ll be charged. stupid question but does this mean i now can’t call/text/use data in the uk despite the fact i bought the add-on for use in another country? is there anything i can do to fix it? feeling v confused and stressed lol. thanks in advance for any advice!!

Hi @ebm2002

Hope you had an amazing time. 🙂

It looks like this is confirming that your roaming add-on is coming to an end. If you're back in UK, it won't affect your allowances.

Did you receive this text message about a week after buying the initial 7day pass?

What was the exact wording of the text you received?

yep! 7 days after buying it. i’ve copied + pasted the text below:

You no longer have access to your UK allowances. To opt in again for 7 days reply ROAMEU7D or reply ROAMEU1D for 24 hours access for £2.50. Otherwise you will be charged per min and text to use your phone. Find out more about your roaming options ee.co.uk/help/paygeuroaming
