Setting Up Roaming before travelling abroad

Hi EE

Please bring back being able to set up roaming before travelling abroad.  It was so much simpler and worked!  The new way of having to click on the link seems to not work, have continual issues and is not a good way to start a holiday!  Have spent a good few hours being the middle man between myself, my son and EE to get this resolved eventually.  Please listen to your customers and bring back the old way of setting up before travelling.  Seems this is not an isolated incident and others have experienced the same.  Thanks

Hi @ARibeiro

Thanks for reaching out to us here on the community.

I appreciate that you found the old way easier to set up Roaming on your phone and we appreciate your feedback too.

You can ensure your Roaming is enabled before you leave by texting ROAM to 150 and you can find out Roaming Costs prior to leaving.

I hope you enjoy your time away.

Thanks

Ritu

There's 2 aspects to setting up roaming:

  1. The ability to roam at all regardless of how you are going to be paying for it. You do this by texting ROAMING to 150 before you leave UK. This hasn't changed.
  2. The purchase of a roaming pass covering the country you are travelling to to allow you to use some or all of your UK allowances there. You used to be able to do this, often by text, for a limited amount of countries. Now you have to arrive in the country before you are invited by text to buy these. However the advantage of the new method is that it is applicable to a significantly greater number of countries.

It is the latter that you are referring to.
