Roaming refresh

What’s changing?

  • We’ve made non Europe Zone roaming easier with EE. From the 4th of December we'll be launching our new roaming passes that you can buy from the moment you land
  • This means we’re removing a number of Inclusive Extras passes and add-ons listed below and you will no longer be able to buy a pass before you travel
  • For customers with inclusive EU Roaming today or iPhone Full Works plans, nothing is changing and those roaming benefits will stay the same. To see our new plans with roaming included click here

How can I see the new prices?

What if I don’t buy a pass when I’ve landed outside of the Europe zone?

  • You can use minutes and texts, but out of bundle rates will apply
  • You will not be able to use data
  • Out of bundle rates vary dependent on the zone follow this link to find the most accurate costs for your trip
  • We recommend buying a pass to cover all usage across minutes, texts and data

I received a text about my roaming products being removed, which products are no longer being sold?

  • The following products will no longer be available to select from the 4th of December. If you already have one of these products, it will continue to work until you are notified that this has been removed from your account
  • Roam Abroad Pass, Roam Further Pass, Roam Abroad Inclusive Extra, Roam Further Inclusive Extra, Travel Data Pass, World Select Talk and Text, Anywhere Minutes, Anywhere Texts

What happens when my product is removed?

  • You will receive a text from us when the product has been removed with more information on our new offers and instructions on how to purchase them

Inclusive Extras:

  • We will be in touch with details of when your Inclusive Extras will be changing. There'll be two new products; one for EU zone roaming and one for ROW 1 zone, which covers 33 destinations

How will this affect my travel in Europe?

  • There are no changes to the way you use your device in Europe immediately as part of this change
  • We have introduced a new EU roaming Inclusive Extra for customers on plans that can select a benefit as part of their plan
  • In 2025, there will be an EU 7-day pass which will make it cheaper for customers who pay our daily roaming charge in the EU to use their device for a full 7 days

I haven't gotten anything to say they're getting taken off, did you get a text about it?

As I understood it, we keep the addons we have as they're not an Inclusive Extra or a Chargeable Add-on.

I got the following:

Hi xxxxxx. Our new roaming products will be launched on 4 December 2024.

Your current roaming products will be removed from 1 January 2025. We will send you a text to confirm when this has happened.

You can continue using your current roaming products until then, but to learn more about our new roaming services, visit https://discover.ee.co.uk/61z3H3w9

If you're travelling now, you can find out more about our existing roaming products by texting ROAMING to 150.

I am on iPhone Full Works, taken out in September 2024.

Strange, I haven't got anything like that through and I'm on an Android Full Works plan from October.

Hopefully they replace it with the appropriate addons, the addons you currently have (Roam in EU and Roam Further Pass) should have been part of your terms after all.

Hi @JordanTA

I have an all rounder plan, 2024 but pre-August. I have the same new extra available as drzia "Roaming Pass ROW". Please can you confirm what countries are included in this extra? In particular the "Eligible countries in the ROW1 zone", it's not clear what this means. Thanks!

@JordanTA I think the confusion here stems from the following; The new Full Works tariffs include EU roaming and 5 other further countries like the USA. However these further 5 countries now fall into a new Zone 1 category.

Is the intention - Full Works tariff continue to have free roaming in the USA, however if we were to trave to UAE for example, we buy the pass?

Where customers on a lower tariff would that includes EU only, would need to buy a pass in both counties?

You also mention "For customers with inclusive EU Roaming today or iPhone Full Works plans, nothing is changing and those roaming benefits will stay the same. To see our new plans with roaming included"

You've specified iphone tariffs, so do we take from that the standard full works tariff is changing??

I also believe @Matt_124 is concerned these "new tariffs" will likely be changed again to include EU and all of Zone 1 roaming on the top tier tariffs. Please can you shed some light on this?

So I’ve just landed in New Zealand spending 3 months here and instead of the roam abroad pass I was told I can use at £25 per month is not available and is in fact now £25 per week??

a 400% increase.. not exactly in line with inflation..

Am I understanding this correctly that yet another utilities company is exploiting its customers??

Hey Chelsea

A, That's correct, unless you take a plan after Aug 24, Then those will be updated with ROW 1 .

I don't have any information on future tariff changes.

Ah okay @JordanTA,

Again a massive thank you for your diligence on this, really refreshing to see you addressing our concerns so directly.

The Full Works plans taken since Tariff Refresh (29th Aug 24)  will have the Roam Further Pass replaced with the Zone 1 Pass, if im picking that up correctly?

That's great news to hear, is this an automatic process to take place after the 4th Jan?
