I am looking to update my sim-only deal to one of the new Full Works plans. Roaming is important to me, I also need to be able to roam in the USA. I currently have the roam abroad/further pass as a free inclusive extra (2023 all rounder tariff) so I can roam freely in the EU, USA, AUS etc..
I am reading a lot about EE making significant roaming changes next week, with all the different legacy tariffs and previous add-ons its a minefield.
Can someone from EE confirm with certainty, how the new 2024 Full Works tariffs (which include roaming, and roam further as default) will be effected by this change?
Will we benefit from added counties being free to roam in, or be stripped of the benefit. This information must be known to EE, as it goes live next week!
Another concern is being excluded form other new roaming features which may not be widely publicised, in the same was as 5G SA was locked off to existing customers. Example - VoLTE is still not officially supported by EE abroad in most countries, other networks offer this, could this be added and exclude existing customers.

@Linzi_H ..... Are these changes taking effect at the next billing date ?
I have called as you suggested and the guide couldn't tell me anything about changes or when any changes might be.
(I have 2 x post August 2024 Full works plans)

Hi,
So even if my Aug ‘24 iPhone Full Works plan shows “Roam Further” (Use your UK data, minutes and texts while abroad in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.), it will also work in ROW1 regardless?

Hi @Katie_B
What changes should I be seeing ?
Nothing has changed on my full works plan on the app or online ...... everything is still shown the same as before December 4th.
I called EE by phone today and the guide didn't even acknowledge any changes.

Hi @Plymouthbloke1 @ukms.
Sorry for not being clear.
Plans taken before August 29th 2024 will continue to get the 5 additional countries.
Plans taken after will receive Zone 1 roaming.
The roaming refresh came into effect December 4th.

Hi @Katie_B
Thanks for taking the time to come back.
The issue for me is that Im not seeing any changes in my plan (my 2 plans are full works taken in September and November 2024) . Which is why I asked what should I be seeing.
Both the app and online don't have any mention of Zone 1 Roaming, only shows the previous 'roam further pass' which I cannot change as its part of the plan.
I am in Dubai UAE today and have had to take a Zone 1 24 hour pass for £5. If I use the roaming price checker in the app, Zone 1 countries all show as chargeable.
Although having all of zone 1 included would be great, for me that's not so much the issue, it's the lack of clarity and information which is conflicting with what Im seeing in reality.
If full works plans post August are meant to have all of Zone 1 (from 4th December) why are we not seeing those changes in the app or online and why have I had to pay £5 for a zone 1 pass ?
Thanks 🙂

@Katie_B Thanks but I'm also not seeing any change to the roaming plan taken on black friday?
And the issue is that we cannot even select Row1 as an inclusive extra even as a temporary solution.
So in effect full works plan customers are at a disadvantage as there's no way to get the pass without paying for it even though others can get it as an inclusive extra.

I believe this will change over after your next billing date, however that doesn’t help you now. The least EE could do is refund any passes purchased due to this issue….

Hi all
We are working on some changes which will allow Full Works customers (taken on or after 29th August 2024) to have access to EE's Rest of World Zone 1 at no extra cost.
The Full Works plans still allow you to user your EE allowances in the EU, USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. In the meantime, customers on these plans travelling to other zone 1 countries can choose roaming add-ons from the 'Welcome' message when they are abroad.
We will post any updates when this exciting change is to be rolled out.
