Roaming refresh/Free roaming removal - Full Works Plan (after Aug 2024)

I am looking to update my sim-only deal to one of the new Full Works plans. Roaming is important to me, I also need to be able to roam in the USA. I currently have the roam abroad/further pass as a free inclusive extra (2023 all rounder tariff) so I can roam freely in the EU, USA, AUS etc..

I am reading a lot about EE making significant roaming changes next week, with all the different legacy tariffs and previous add-ons its a minefield.

Can someone from EE confirm with certainty, how the new 2024 Full Works tariffs (which include roaming, and roam further as default) will be effected by this change?

Will we benefit from added counties being free to roam in, or be stripped of the benefit. This information must be known to EE, as it goes live next week!

Another concern is being excluded form other new roaming features which may not be widely publicised, in the same was as 5G SA was locked off to existing customers. Example - VoLTE is still not officially supported by EE abroad in most countries, other networks offer this, could this be added and exclude existing customers.

Hi, 

We have had some confirmation from our roaming team that Full Works plans taken after August 2024 will be eligible for zone 1 roaming. 

Plans taken before August 2024 will not be impacted and will still have the 5 additional countries.

Do you know if it will be replacing the existing Roam Further Add-on on those August 2024 plans? 

I would hope we wouldn't have to use our single Inclusive Extra on it, but it would be great if you could find out in advance to be sure.

Hi @Matt_124. 

If you are on a plan with roaming included that was taken from the end of August 2024 you will not be required to use an Inclusive Extra.

hi @Katie_B I am on an All Rounder 2023 tariff, which includes the Roam Abroad Pass as my chosen inclusive extra. This has always worked seamlessly. Can I take from your message this is not being removed? 

That being said - when I use the roaming calculator on the app (logged in)  it says I need to buy a pass in EU counties or pay £2.47 per day,  same with the additional 5 countries USA etc..

However when viewing the desktop version it recognises the inclusive extra and confirms my free roaming entitlement. I have tried the usual of reinstalling he app etc. There is clearly a change, as this only started happening after the roaming refresh date.

Do you know when the Zone 1 roaming will start for full works ? I’m still getting the option to pay for it when I try to select.  Thanks.

I can only assume the new ROW bolt-on will kick in on your next bill date. The new roaming passes launched on 4th December and my bill date is the 2nd of the month so I’m expecting mine to change on 2nd January. Thankfully I’m not going abroad before then! 😂
