Iv got the same problem. No way to contact EE as can’t make calls! I’m connected to Optus network in Australia, roaming on etc. just can’t make calls

Have you been able to make calls since being in Australia on this trip? Can you send & receive text messages? Did you receive a welcome text message on first arrival?
Have you tried connecting to an alternative Aussie network - does this make any difference?

Yes, I managed to make a call on Thursday 24 Apri to an Australian number, but all other calls Iv made since were on Messenger & WhatsApp. I just can’t make a regular call now. I can send & receive messages, I received the welcome text when I arrived. My roaming automatically joined Optus but I turned it off tonight to try another network- tried Vodafone but then internet not working along with calling so Iv switched back to Optus & automatic network setting on my iPhone.

Using apps such as Messenger etc, just proves a working internet connection - nothing else.
You mention being able to previously call an Australian number - is the number you're trying to call now, a UK number? Can you call in-country numbers now?
Potentially an international-call-bar issue if so. Mobile data & texts working proves your roaming network connection.

Iv just tried calling the same Aussie number - not working now. My only option is to try using a friend’s phone to ring EE & find out what is going on.

Are you using a daily/weekly pass to cover your usage? Or are you paying for calls individually?
