Hi,
does anyone have a simple list of steps to setup and minimise Call, Text and Data usage for a SIM only Monthly Plan
(25Gb Data/mnth) for a 1 week trip to Cape Verde please?
e.g.
Before trip
1. Text ROAMING to 150
2. Purchase the Add-On XYZ (eg ROAMING ADD-ON)
3. Switch off WIFI Calling
4. Switch Off Data
When arrived at destination;
1. ??
2. Enable WIFI Calling only when in range of free WIFI?? Or does this also rack up EE costs/usage?
3. Any steps needed to enable daily Data usage?
When back in UK.
1. Cancel ROAMING Add-on (if it has to be cancelled??)
2. Reenable WIFI
3. Reenable DATA
Which EE URL's should I be looking at top make decision for above?
Thank you!
Stuart

@bensley007 WiFi calling is only for use in the UK and if it does work abroad you’ll still be charged for international calls, WiFi calling is only to give you a working signal in poor to no signal areas when connected to WiFi it’s not a means to get out of call charges
Have a look at THIS to see what add on you can purchase for this destination.

Many thanks Chris, so no cost reduction add-on options for calls & texts whatsoever and astronomical call rate at £4.26 per minute and a 'Travel Data Pass' for DATA at £14.09 per day (up to 10Mb /day (not Gb) ) . Blimey!! What a rip off.

Hi @bensley007
There are a couple of options for calls and texts available.
When you are on the link that @Chris_B mentioned above, click on 'See available add-ons' under How to Reduce Costs.
You'll see a data option to start with, but you can scroll right to see 60 Minutes from anywhere for £14.05 and 100 Texts from anywhere for £8.44 instead of £4.21 per minute for making and receiving calls and 89p per text message sent.
You'll still be able to connect to WiFi when you are there for a data connection, but just the WiFi Calling won't work.

@Michael_D : That needs fixing! It is not obvious to anyone that there is anything to the R that can be scrolled to. There is not even '>' (& '<') arrows to indicate their presence. Just list them vertically rather than invisible horizontally
