Loss of inclusive roaming

I’m currently on a full works pay monthly which has inclusive roaming. Just got a text saying that the roaming plans are changing and it looks like they’ll now be chargeable.

Is this correct?

@willmow  if you’re out of contract ie you are passed your minimum term than EE have every right to remove any services that were once part of your contract.     You must have a pre 2021 contract as all contracts after this roaming had charges.

but

You can always upgrade to a Sim only that has roaming included.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

As an update to this, CS don't have any information on it yet supposedly but customers should be receiving more comms next week (and the CS teams too) on how it is all gonna work.

I think it could either be really good for those with roaming (a revision of countries included for roaming, including more countries on Roam Further like Turkey, UAE, China etc) or really bad for those that pay for the Roam Abroad Pass (Roam Abroad Pass removed and replaced with daily and weekly rates for US etc.).

On the site it lists 7 days as being £25 in the US for example, whereas at the moment it's £25 for a month.

Definitely will be to give more perceived value to the plans that encompass the Rest of World Roaming addons.

Just received message saying that my roaming £25 per month is stopping 24December

I can change to daily or weekly package which will cost a small fortune

EE customers need clarity regarding this loss of free roaming NOW, as I and my wife are poised to switch to O2 which includes roaming. There are very attractive Black Friday deals out there.

Post moved to another thread discussing the same issue.

The previous posts have some info which may be useful.

I have received a message saying that new roaming charges are coming in as of the 22nd December.

At present I don’t pay anything when using my phone in the EU countries it all comes out of my allowance.

I am on a very old EE contract so my understanding is that they can’t change my contract - so now I’m confused as to whether or not I will be charged in future!

Is anyone else in this situation?

Yes, very many people - all waiting for clarity from EE.

I spoke with CS yesterday, they have confirmed, if you have currently free EU Roam added to your  plan - this will stay until  you change your plan.

Are you absolutely sure? If so, this is excellent news for us LOYAL legacy customers. How can we be sure?

The new charges are just egregious. When I joined EE a few years back, a month's worth of roaming either in the EU or the US (just examples where I travel personally), would have been £10 with the Roam Abroad pass. It's by now increased to £25. With the new packs, it will cost almost £70 in the EU, or £100 in the US. Has the cost to EE of providing this service really multiplied so much? I find that hard to believe.
