Hi.... going to USA, are there any charges to receive a call? Recieve a text?

Ive been told of making a call and sending texts costs. Thats fine.

Was thinking of only using WIFI and WhatsApp.

Thanks.

Roaming charges in the USA can be found at https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/roaming-costs > USA > Pay-monthly/PAYG

If you're on pay-monthly, you can consider the "Roam Abroad pass" which allows use of all your UK allowances (voice, text & data) and zero-charges incoming calls.

Texts are free to receive globally. If you're on pay-monthly, be sure to enable roaming (unlocking access to foreign networks) by texting ROAMING to 150 before leaving the UK. PAYG is auto-enabled once you use your phone in the UK first.
