I arrive today in Turkey. My roaming is on however, i have no phone signal so I couldnt call EE on what to do. I don't have the option to live chat on the app as well. Seems weird and strange. Can some help me what to do? I have switched off my phone multiple times to reset but to no response.

@Dianne24 , are you on pay as you go or contract?

Did you receive the welcome message?

If on contract, did you enable roaming on your account before going abroad? Pay as you go are automatically enabled.

Could you switch off automatic network and do a manual search?

I would suggest you also check here for more answers:

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using web based app or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.
I am on a mobile plan and have not received any welcome message as i dont have any phone signal. I tried multiple times manually set up the mobile network but still no progress.

Hi @Dianne24

Welcome to the community. I hope you're having a brilliant trip in Turkey so far.

If you've tried restarting your phone, checking your spend cap and manually selecting another Turkish network, you'll need to speak with our Customer Support team so they can check your account. You can find contact information, including an international number to call from another phone, on our Contact Us page.

Hi there @Dianne24

Thanks for posting on the community.

Did you text ROAMING to 150 before travelling to Turkey?

Leanne.

What exactly makes you think your roaming is on?

This is an account-level setting which gives your SIM permission to connect to foreign networks. Many people confuse it with the "data roaming" menu option in a phone menu, which enables use of mobile data whilst already roaming.

What makes you think your roaming is on? On what or where? It needs to be activated on your EE a/c not just your phone.

Did you receive a Welcome text upon arrival?

Are you on contract or PAYG? Had you used that SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad?

If you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before leaving UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming billing add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c. Having roaming activated on your EE a/c, not just on your device, is crucial to using your contract SIM abroad.

Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto.

Otherwise if you are on contract you need to call CS to get your roaming activated. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. using a web-calling app over WiFi.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone
