@PAUL141947 : Did you receive a Welcome text upon arrival?

As you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming billing add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c. Having roaming activated on your EE a/c, not just on your device, is crucial to using your contract SIM abroad.

Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto.

Otherwise if you are on contract you need to call CS to get your roaming activated. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. on Skype over WiFi. It should be free.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

Done everything even bought a Roaming Pass for my wife's phone  the se problem  everything but outgoing calls, they ring but don't connect. I'm not technically blessed with Skype how can I ring the free number it keeps bombing out? Thank you for responding to my call for help  much appreciated. Level 1&2 failed to solve it and it was passed to Roaming Team on Good Friday, supposed to ring Easter Tuesday, still waiting. I can't call normally and I'm now getting desperate

Not sure what "done everything" means, or "the se problem everything but outgoing calls"

When you say "they ring but don't connect", are you saying you can dial a number and get a ringtone? What happens when the called party answers?

Can you send & receive text messages? Can you receive calls? Have you tried manually selecting alternative local networks?

Hi Bristolian,

Level 1&2 Tech Staff have been through everything and couldn't solve the problem, such that they were forwarding to the Roaming Team As of now I've heard nothing from them. EE have tried everything, I've rebooted, manually selected provider until I'm doing it in my sleep. I have reinstated the provider to TMOBILE as that seems the best. I've even been in  TMOBILE store and the technician checked out my phone. Even with all bars showing it rang the UK but cut out before I could speak. In the day I purchased a £25 Roming Pass for the wife's phone. It's mirroring mine, Internet but no phone connection. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Were you provided with a fault reference, by the CS bods you spoke to? That would be the correct process.

Hi Bristolian,

I wasn't given a fault reference. On the 18th April  (Good Friday) I spoke to Wayne who couldn't resolve it and he passed me on to David who finally passed me on to Lee. They couldn't resolve it and Lee said he would need to pass it on to Roaming Team, he said unfortunately they weren't back at work until 22nd and said he'd ask them to ring me around 9:08 US time (14:08 UK time). That call never materialised and as the 3 days had expired I was unable to contact anyone in the loop. Since then I've struggled to talk to anyone, everything has been by text my phone can't call out. I really appreciate the effort Ee staff have put in to try and resolve the issue but I still have a phone with a Zone 1 pass that can't contact UK landlines. In desperation I purchased a £25 7 day Roaming Pass and her phone mirrors mine, she gets Internet but no access to UK landlines.
