@LyndaF , is roaming enabled on your account? Have you remembered to put +44 or 044 before the number you are ringing?

Getting out of the Aus phone network is a little different.

How To Call A Landline In The UK

When calling a UK landline from Australia, you need to follow these steps:

STEP 1: Dial the Australian exit code – ‘0011’ from a landline or ‘+’ from your mobile.

STEP 2: Dial ‘44’ for the UK country code.

STEP 3: Dial the UK area code (without the first 0) and local number.

For example, if you’re calling a London landline with the local number 1234 5678, the complete sequence would be:

0011 44 20 1234 5678 or +44 20 1234 5678.

0011 44 20 1234 5678

It's exactly the same as making an international call from any other country - using + as an international access code, and dropping the leading zero is a global standard.

Thanks everyone who responded- the reason why us because some networks like Optrus don’t like dialling to U.K. landlines- BUT Telstra was absolutely fine for me in Sydney - so top tip - if you’ve tried all the options - try changing to network 😀😀
