Hi I am overseas and have added a roam abroad pass to my account on a rolling monthly basis. I have a spend cap of £50. Does the roam abroad charge set against my monthly spend cap or is the spend cap for non contracted adhoc usage. I'm really confused thx in advance George

@george203 :

1. The Spend Cap does not restrict charges for the Roam Abroad Pass. Yes, it's only for sorta non-purchased ad-hoc charges:

What Spend Caps can control

A Spend Cap can restrict charges for

  • Out-of-allowance calls, texts, and picture messages to standard UK and EU numbers,
  • EU Roaming per day charge
  • Out-of-allowance calls and messages abroad from the UK (IDD)
  • Access charges for premium calls and texts for numbers starting 09, 118, 083, 084, 085, 087, 070.
  • Call divert charges
  • Calls via text relay
  • Calls to 123
  • Calls to bypass services 07744 and 07755
  • Paging services
  • Calls to 101 non-emergency numbers
  • Calls to satellite phone numbers
  • Aeroplane and maritime calls and messaging i.e. using your mobile on a cruise.

2. The Roam Abroad Pass is on a rolling billing-monthly basis. The Roam Abroad Pass costs £25 per billing month from the billing month you order it (text ROAMING PASS to 150) until the billing month you cancel it (text STOP ROAMING PASS to 150). For all billing months during which you have the Pass it is charged at the full £25. However if the Pass is carried over from the 1st billing month to the next it will be charged pro-rata for that 1st month alone.

3. As you are on contract, just remember to text ROAMING to 150 before you leave UK to ensure the roaming ability is enabled on your account.
