Hi,
I am on holiday and ran out of data, my dad sent me 40GB but for some reason I can’t use it! My roaming is on and my EE account says I have 40GB to use but still got a text saying that I ran out of data - there’s no way I used 40GB in 30 minutes!
Any help would be great as I am working while away and need to be connected to the internet for the next 4 days.

Try texting BALANCE to 150, what does the response say? Also what was the exact wording of the message you received, about running out of data?
Have you been able to use mobile data while abroad on this current trip? If not, have you been able to connect to a local network and make/receive calls, or send/receive texts?
I'm unclear whether this is an issue of "I can't use data abroad" which may hide the underlying issue of "I can't connect to foreign networks", or if this is a billing issue concerning your data allowance.

Thanks for replying so quick.
When I text 150 it says I have 40GB of data despite being texted this morning the following:
“Hi from EE. You've now used up all your data. It won't refresh until 10/10. Visit add-on.ee.co.uk/text to buy more. Thanks.”
I used my data when it reset yesterday but since my fixed usage of 1GB ran out I haven’t been able to access the 40GB that was gifted to me.

For the avoidance of doubt, can you confirm you are otherwise able to roam - you have a local network connection, and calls/texts continue to work?
Also when is your monthly bill date?

Yes I can call and message!
Monthly billing date is the 10th so it reset yesterday, the payment went through so there isn’t an issue with that!

he gifted me the data immediately after I got a message saying I had used 80% of the 1GB I get monthly.

When your dad sent you the data gift since the allowance reset, did this show his allowance drop and send you a confirmation message that it was sucessful?

Also what do you see when you view your allowance in the EE app?
