Fall Alarm System

Hi

My parents have just got a fall alarm system in, they are quite old, and live in a rural area, the company installed it last Friday and it worked when they were there installing,  but it not working quite a lot of the time since, as I was there checking.

I contacted the company supplying the service and they are saying the system has roaming card inside and it automatically pucks up the best signal. They can see its connected to EE via the sim card inside as that has to be the best signal in the area, BUT  there has to be constant good coverage for it to work.

They recommended I buy a EE booster from this Mobile Booster Supplier and they will credit me £300 on the first years billing to help, the problem is they cost £700 up front and thats a lot of money. I spoke to the booster company and the promised it would work and even explained as it does all networks and the alarm company uses a any network sim not just EE,  it would be 99% guaranteed.

I asked if there was one I could get from EE but they said EE no longer had any booster to their knowledge but that they used to have ones and stopped.

I am hoping someone here might have an old EE booster they don't need that would work with EE or if anyone knows if there is a booster that I can get from EE for free?

I think you posted on the VF forum after your first company used VF-exclusively and they didn't have coverage there!

As mentioned on that forum, the term "booster" in this context is often incorrectly used to refer to legacy 3G "signal box" picocells that provided localised indoor 3G coverage, backhauled via your home broadband. EE have decommissioned their 3G network nationally, which includes support for these boxes.

The professionally-installed boosters that you refer to with the £700 pricetag are the only realistic solution here, outwith a new network radio site being installed to improve the local macro coverage for everyone!
