Can’t connect to EE from uae

Arrived in the UAE clicked on purchase roaming. Bought a £5 per day roaming pass did not work tried various options of contact. No joy cannot phone the EE number Indicated on the Help pages. I have tried for over 48 hours still not join. I have changed the spending cap still no joy. I’m at a loss. I have work calls. This is a nightmare.

Welcome to the community,

Are you on pay as you go or contract? If on pay as you go, then you have roaming enabled on your account, if on contract then did you activate roaming on your account? I suspect you did, as you were able to purchase the roaming pass.

Have you tried going into settings and changing it to manual search of network? You can then try different ones to see if they work. It is not EE, but one of the networks in UAE, that you need to connect to, so long as you first used your SIM card in the UK to activate it, otherwise there will be no way of activating it whilst abroad.

If you clicked, I presume you received a welcome text message - in which case you have a local network connection and are thus already roaming. If this is not the case - feel free to explain.

In what way does your roaming pass not work? Can you be more specific.. The pass reduces the cost of roaming - are you able to make & receive calls? Are you able to send & receive texts? Are you able to use mobile data?

Whatever it is that doesn't work, what happens when you try? Feel free to include as much detail as may assist others to advise.
