Am currently on holiday in France
Received a text saying ‘GREAT news we have updated your settings, please restart your phone’
Having done so, all service stopped. I get 5G signal but all data services stopped working
am beyond furious. If I’d been relying on service I’d be completely screwed. Someone ought to go to prison over this

@Linkster : Can you make calls & texts?
Are you on contract or PAYG? Had you used that SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad?
If you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming billing add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c. Having roaming activated on your EE a/c, not just on your device, is crucial to using your contract SIM abroad.
Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto.
Otherwise you need to call CS to get your roaming activated. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. on Skype over WiFi. It should be free.

I explained that EE themselves told me to reboot
I am on contract not PAYG
the first day I was here I got a text saying I’d be charged £2.67 a day for data
all day Friday and Saturday the phone has worked fine
i rebooted because the text told me to and the service ceased
my wife is on shared tarried, she hasn’t rebooted and is fine

Can you make & receive voice calls? Can you send & receive texts?
Have you tried manually selecting an alternative local operator? Issues with roaming can sometimes be caused by local network problems.

You've not answered regarding voice calls? Can you make or receive calls?
You've not answered regarding manual network selection. If you do so, and attempt a manual connection to each local network in turn, what is the result?

Other users on this forum can only offer advice based on what answers you provide.
Can you make or receive calls? This is a good test of whether your phone has a mobile network connection. It would be covered by the daily charge, in the exact same way as mobile data usage would be.

That's no reason not to answer. We're not mind-readers & we can only help from the full info you provide. Now your latest post is the missing answer.
