Using ee abroad with an old flex plan confusion

I've spoken to customer services today and it is not possible to add the roam from home to old ee flex plans, therefore you have to pay the premium costs when abroad if you are still on a flex plan. This was not communicated by EE when the new roaming add on was introduced in June. Furthermore if you text RO and the country you're travelling to 150, it will reply with outdated information that you can use your plan for free in the EU. This is definitely not the case. If you want to add the roam from home you need to switch to another plan with EE. I just thought I'd post this as it's been very confusing for me trying to work out the situation, and I thought it might help others in the same situation

I agree with you, EE's systems are sometimes.... ****, I can't turn on/off roaming via the EE App or myEE account as it just gives an error
