I missed a VERY important call this morning because the EE service has not been working all day. I cannot make calls, I cannot receive them and I cannot send text messages.
I pay you every month for this service but I'm unable to use said service as it is not working.
THEN you send me a text message saying "we're giving you a day of unlimited messages and data for £1!" As if it was supposed to make me feel lucky and appreciative!
Due to this entire thing, there may be consequences of being unable to receive that call today! I can't even listen to my voice mail or text 150!
You need to fix this and I'll be expecting compensation.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Hello @ChristopherB198
Welcome to the community,
Do you not have fixed internet? If you do, you can then have wifi calling set up on your phone.
Unfortunately, this can happen, that the network is down.
If you check here, you can register, report and receive updates:
https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile-coverage-checker
No network can guarantee 100% of the time that it will work, as faults can occur and if no-one lets them know, then it can take longer to detect.

If you've not done so already, try toggling flight mode to ensure your phone hasn't "dropped off" available coverage. If EE's network was unavailable nationally, it would attract significant press attention, far more likely you have a local loss-of-service.
Use the "check service status" option on https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile-coverage-checker in the first instance, to check for local service outages. A loss of coverage will remove the ability to make/receive calls, send/receive texts or use mobile data.
If you're in the UK and have a WiFi connection, you can use WiFi-calling to keep using your phone as normal without needing network coverage.
