I have a PAYG WIFI Hub. It's my back-up. My second last activity was Feb 2022 due to home broadband went down. My last activity was October 2022 when I found out my SIM was made inactive due to no activity. Yes, I forgot to use the WIFI at least once in 6 months. I learnt my lesson.
Question: Can someone confirm again - do I need to maintain minimum activity every 3 months or 6 months to ensure my sim is not made inactive and cancelled?
To create activity - do I need to use data? Can I just use the HUB to send an SMS instead. It will cost me £2 just to keep it active by using data when I dont need to use the HUB for data.
Thanks

EE PAYG SIMs are deactivated after 6 months of non-chargeable use. You then have a further 3 months to call EE to reactivate it before it is lost completely.
You needed to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from your pack.
Yes, sending a chargeable text every 5.5 months is an ideal way to keep it live.

I checked the SMS I sent from my HUB was charged 20p. Is that considered a chargeable action? If yes, thank you, I will continue to send SMS to keep this number active hence avoid deactivation. - cindy
