EE Community Support Team

Good evening, @unsatisfied999

As a number of my colleagues have advised here, without accessing and verifying accounts, we are not able to specifically comment on any of the circumstances you have described here.

I'd like to further reiterate the advice that @Katie_J shared, and recommend that if you remain unhappy to raise this directly with our complaints team.

They're our highest point of escalation, and will be the team best equipped to directly address any concerns you have around both this account, and the support you have received from our team.

You can find all the details you need on our full complaints process here:

EE Complaints Code of Practice

Peter

So, we now have another (the third) member of the wonderful EE community ‘support’ team chime in.

Yet another ‘support’ worker totally unwilling to answer straightforward questions and only willing to get it passed out of their hands to the ‘complaints’ dept, which will take the issue out of view and into the hands of people who will give even more reasons and excuses why EE will not make refunds.

Why isn’t someone from the complaints dept. jumping in here to give answers and show transparency in this matter??

At the start of this forum, ee_user14 .. states -

"PAYG credit absolutely is refundable when you port out - clause 7.2.3.3 of the T&C's specifically say so. Just need to call CS to request it - I should imagine it's sent by cheque.  7.2.33 You have requested a code to port Your number to another network(known as a PAC Code or a STAC Code) and within 30 days of porting Your number You Call Us to request the unused Credit be returned to You. In this case We will arrange to refund the unused Credit to You up to a maximum of £50."

So why does this not happen?? When the terms of EE’s T&C’s state that we are entitled to a refund when porting away using a PAC, why is everybody at EE doing their utmost to fight this and give as many ‘reasons’ as they can as to why this cannot happen??

Community ‘support’ Ali_A stated -

“A refund can only be issued to accounts that had already been fully registered with the owners personal details. It is only possible to register an account before it has been cancelled.
Registered details would also be needed to access any accounts after closure too, since security validation would no longer be possible via other methods (for example sending an One Time PIN)”.

Yet, my wife and I spoke to ‘Leanne’ for 40 minutes, during which she stated again and again that 'the account could not now be accessed because it is now closed due to us being ported over using a PAC code'!

Conflicting answers and ‘reasons’ again and again.

Gareth Williams, here on this forum had the same problem, being fobbed off the first time then, following the advice of the community ‘support’ people here his father spent another hour on the phone to no avail. His father was unable to get his unused money back too! Just how many people are losing their money and how much is EE making from us?

EE must be so poor that they want to keep money that pensioners paid in advance for use on their phone. We all did everything right, we ported using PAC code, yet EE refuses to follow their own T&C’s, preferring to fight to the end so that the problem will disappear and they keep our money that remained unused.

Is it any wonder why, given the answers (or total lack of) here in this forum, I have no confidence at all in taking this to the ‘complaints’ dept where I am certain that I will receive lots of ‘sorry’s’, lots of ‘reasons’ and lots of waffle yet still end up with no refund which is clearly stated here in this forum I am clearly entitled to!

@unsatisfied999 : If you get no satisfactory resolution from a formal complaint to EE you are able to escalate it to an independent Ombudsman.

You can make a formal complaint to EE & if you don't get satisfaction after 6 weeks or come to a deadlock you can take it to EE's ADR provider. See Complaints code of practice and here is the Complaints Form .

That is not a condition imposed on the user by the PAYG Network Terms. Furthermore EE do not need the personal details of a user in order to refund the PAYG credit remaining of a user who moved to another network using a PAC or STAC in accordance with the PAYG Network Terms. EE simply credit the amount back to the bank card that originally topped it up.
