Thanks for the post, however, I am still having some trouble...
I have had a new PAYG SIM sent to me abroad. When I receive a call, it goes straight to voice mail and I get an sms about the missed call. I cannot make any calls as well it seems. I tried to follow your instructions regarding activating roaming on PAYG, but I cannot find the option for Parental Control and Data after clicking on Account Settings. Cann somebody help please?

@danonne : Sending a PAYG SIM out abroad w/out 1st using it in earnest in the UK just doesn't work. EE PAYG SIMs need 1st activating on EE's home UK network. If it wasn't you can't now use it until you return to UK.

Hi @danonne
Welcome to the community.
Those parental controls settings are only available for pay monthly customers. To activate a pay as you go SIM card for roaming, you have to make a call or send a text message from it within the UK.
Without doing that first, the SIM will not work fully outside of the UK.
