PAYG sim!

Hello 

In July I went from a contract to PAYG with same SIM. I currently live in NZ but plan to keep my EE Sim active.

I've just tried to use my SIM to keep it active but it won't let me make calls or text (even to 150). It has £5 of credit on it.

I really need this sim to be active as it has all my UK banking details attached to it!

Any advice would be welcome 😞

When was your SIM moved to PAYG? It takes 30 days notice to cancel a contract & before it is moved to PAYG. Had that change taken place while abroad you can't now use it at all while abroad. To be used abroad EE PAYG SIMs need 1st activating on EE's home UK network. If it wasn't you can't now use it until you return to UK.

Thanks for your speedy reply.

My contract also ended July. I called them immediately and moved to PAYG.

No one told me this!!!! I don't need to urgently use it but I don't want it to expire(will move back to Uk at some point). I can use it in the UK in January. Will that be OK to keep it active?

It might be touch & go but if not, you should still have 3 months from then to call CS to get it out of hibernation.

Thank you. There might be a way for it to be used in the UK in October which might be safer.

If I top it up every few months would this perhaps count as keeping it active?

It might but as it's not activated properly it might not count.

You're caught in the middle of 2 competing issues, not activated in UK & hibernation due to non-use.

Is there anyways EE from their end can know I'm still wanting to use it? 

 

Hopefully I can get it activated in uk in october.
